Suppose you have a LAN network in your office where all computers share resources like files folder WAMP Servers etc. and you have two different ISP (Internet Service Provider). But you can access only one ISP. If you want to access another one you must go out of network. If you want to add both ISP in your network you must bridge them.
Now I tell you how to connect two ISP in a single network
Just have a look on below diagram.
As you seen in the diagram there are two routers that have different ISP. One has router IP (or default gateway for accessing the internet) 192.168.0.1 and another is 192.168.0.3
Now for one router must DHCP will be disabled and one will DHCP enable.
DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) provides IP address and other configuration when you select to obtain an IP address automatically on your computer so if both routers have DHCP enable then it will create conflictions.
Now a LAN cable connects between two routers from the LAN port of each router.
That’s it now everyone can able to access both ISP in network
Some points need to keep in mind for this configuration:
- In this network if you select to obtain an IP address automatically then you get only those ISP that’s router has DHCP is enabled
- For go to the alternate ISP you must set your IP manually and enter alternate ISP router IP in default gateway and preferred DNS Server
- For switch from ISP to another you just need to change your default gateway and DNS server
